eventually she recovered
how long it took she chose to ignore

she didn’t ask why
she wasn’t sore

she didn’t assess blame
for what she’d lost

she didn’t claim damages
for all that’d cost

she didn’t seek revenge
to settle the score

she didn’t feel remorse
nor compare to before

every day she walks like a zen master
joyful and restored

every step to her is new
with her three paws

just as it was
when she had four
